Book Club

"Hidden Figures" by Margot Lee Shetterly kicks off the Book Club's 2017-2018 reading season.  This is the riveting true story of four exceptionally talented African American women who were called into service during the labor shortages of World War II.  These dedicated female mathematicians, known as "human computers," used pencils, slide rules, and adding machines to calculate the numbers that would launch rockets, and astronauts, into space.  Their careers spanned over nearly three decades and changed our country's future.

Cookbook Club

Mon, 01/15/2018 -
6:00pm to 8:00pm

Nobody can go wrong with recipes from Gina Homolka’s, “Skinnytaste: Fast and Slow” cookbook.  Dinner in under 30 minutes?  There are more than 80 recipes that accomplish that plus 60 recipes for the slow cooker.  Many recipes are vegetarian, gluten-free, and freezer-friendly.

Pick up your copy of the cookbook at our Circulation Desk.  Prepare a recipe and bring it to share with others at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 15.
