Cookbook Club

Nobody can go wrong with recipes from Gina Homolka’s, “Skinnytaste: Fast and Slow” cookbook.  Dinner in under 30 minutes?  There are more than 80 recipes that accomplish that plus 60 recipes for the slow cooker. Prepare a recipe and bring it to share with others at 6 p.m. on Monday, January 15.

Used Book Sale

Orrville Public Library Friends will sponsor a Used Book Sale on Friday, October 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, October 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The event will be held in the downstairs Community Room of Orrville Public Library.  The sale of used books will be held in conjunction with the Orrville community yard sales.

Donations of clean, used books will be accepted at the library through Saturday, September 30.  Events like this are used by the Friends group to help fund special projects the library could not otherwise afford.

Book Club

The book for this month is "Grandma Gatewood's Walk." This inspiring true story is about Emma Gatewood, a 67-year-old grandmother who declared she was going for a walk and left her small Ohio town with a change of clothes and less than $200.  The next time she was heard from she had walked 800 miles along the Appalachian Trail!  She has been the only woman to walk the entire trail alone, not only once, but three times.
