"Small Great Things" by Jodi Picoult is this month's Book Club read. Ruth Jefferson is an African American labor and delivery nurse with more than twenty years' experience. During a routine checkup on a newborn, she is told that she's been reassigned to another patient. The newborn's parents are white supremacists and don't want Ruth to touch their child. The next day the baby goes into cardiac arrest and Ruth is alone in the nursery. Does she obey orders or does she intervene?
Pick up your copy of the book at our Circulation Desk. The group will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21 for discussion.
