UPDATE

05/29/2020      We currently have limited service hours at our drive-up window:  Monday & Thursday 3 – 7 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday 1 – 5 p.m., and Saturday 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.  The building itself is still closed to the public.  We are working with local officials, the governor, and the State Library to open the building in phases in order to maintain the safety of our patrons and staff.

Requests for new materials can be made through our website, www.orrville.lib.oh.us, or by contacting us directly at 330-683-1065.

Our phone service begins at 11 a.m. each day.  At this time, materials are only available from our building and from the Wayne County Public Library system.  State-wide delivery service has not yet returned so items from other libraries are unable to be requested and shipped.  Please be aware when requesting an item from the Wayne County system that all items coming into our building will be placed in quarantine for a period of time.  You will be notified when your items are ready to be picked up at our drive-up window.

Since we do not yet have state-wide delivery service, you may have items on your account that show ‘suspended.’  These holds will stay on your account and should fill as more libraries open and delivery service resumes.  Unfortunately, we don’t have a specific date for when this will happen.

It’s possible that an item you’ve returned is still showing on your card.  All items coming into the building are placed in quarantine for a period of time and are not handled by staff.  No fines accrue during this time.

05/28/2020     What is next for OPL?

We are happy to announce that as of June 1st we are officially opening our drive-up window to start providing materials to our patrons.  Need a book, movie, music cd, or hotspot?  Give us a call!

We are also providing phone reader’s advisory, reference, and some assistance with photocopies, faxes, and printing of documents.

While working on a limited-service basis to start please know that we continue to work on a plan that will allow us to open our doors back up to the community.  We must continue to follow the advice/recommendations of the Governor, local health department, and our state library.
For updated information continue to check us out on Facebook or at www.orrville.lib.oh.us.
Give us a call!  We miss hearing from you!

05/07/2020     The Orrville Public Library staff is missing their patrons!  While we are closed work is being done to plan for the day, we can re-open. During this time, we continue to offer access to online resources, ebooks, music, movies, comics, and magazines. If you need a library card you can go online to sign up for one!

We do not have an opening date as of yet but are eagerly looking forward to providing service once again to our community.  Our plans for returning to limited service will include access to our drive-up window to pick up materials.  At this time, we have closed our book drops to help us catch up on the backlog of books that have already been returned.   Please keep any items you still have out until we open.

We are working with state and local authorities on best practice when it comes to sanitizing our materials and our facility.   Please know that patron and staff safety is a priority to us!

03/16/2020     After careful consideration, the library leadership and the Board of the Orrville Public Library has made the difficult decision to be closed starting March 17th until further notice. This decision was made for the health and safety of our patrons and staff. We thank you for your understanding and support during this unprecedented and difficult time.

Please know that we will be extending due dates on physical materials and patrons will not incur fines while we are temporarily closed. We are encouraging patrons to keep and enjoy all library materials until we re-open.
